This is a traditional collection of short ghost/horror stories, all of which contain someone being murdered at some point.

The slight twist is that the introduction and epilogue of the book can be read together to make a final story, in which it is revealed that the reader is the target victim in this final story.

In general, though, its just old fashioned ghost stories.

There's a boy who doesn't realise that he is dead.

The caretaker of a castle who feeds the gardens with a diet of tourist bones.

A philosophy student who is contemplating how he can lead a meaningful life, only to realise that he's already dead.

A loving father who murders his child to save her from a worse fate.

The reporter who, in obsessing over a murder case, finds himself following in the accused's murderous footsteps.

The art critic who finds himself caught up in a fancy piece of modern art,

and a few more in the works.
